Quality Ruggedness Price Value
On my Yugo SKS this plate results in about 2.5'' between the scope and bore axis. It's a little bit awkward for some people depending on the shape of your face and whatnot, but not really terrible. The scope is also offset to the left by around half an inch or so, but I consider this an advantage as it leaves the iron sight view unmolested. If the high sight bugs you, you would probably be interested in the Double-Connection rail as it can mount optics much lower on the SKS receiver if that's the sort of thing you're a stickler for.
The price probably seems high to a lot of people, particularly once they see what a small hunk of steel it really is. Unfortunately, this rail design requires a fair few machining operations, some of which are probably fairly awkward and not well automated. As a result, the price is what it is, but if you want to mount an SVD or AK optic on a gun that was not designed for it, this will do the job.
